"Red Flame" is one of three original paintings by artist Cecily Cummings. Known for her dramatic portraiture depictions, Cecily wanted to create a trio of paintings of beautiful oriental women. Inspired by the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha" she created the beauty of the Red Flame. Cecily used red as the dominant color. Women in art that are painted in the rich, vibrant and fiery hues of red are always a favorite of artists.
The lovely Red Flame is about being noticed above all others. Once noticed, she will never be forgotten. Only certain people can wear red and be comfortable and if they can wear the colors of the flame they will transform themselves and everyone around them.
To be the flame is to draw the moth. Beauty and the color red combined are compelling and would be an irresistible draw to any man.
Cecily painted each oriental portrait in oil on 16 x 20 canvas. The originals are no longer available but the images are now available only in 8" x 10" signed prints in black mats .
