"Chiu-rang-guru" Cecily named this painting in honor of the group of Japanese goddesses called Chiu rang guru that dwell in the rapids and rough waters and waterfalls. This painting depicts these goddesses as Fan Dancers. They are symbolic of helping us in overcoming the 'rough waters' in our lives that we face. They guide us through these times to ultimate victory in our lives..."senders down of the current".
This is a small oil painting in Cecilys oriental goddess series and measure only 9" x 12" on stretched linen canvas. The image shown is actually a 'cropped' version showing some of the detail in the painting. The original features five fan dancers in a horizontal layout.
Cecily is co-owner of Bella Bleu Art Studio & Gallery near downtown Gulfport, MS. She has a degree in art and english from William Carey College on the Gulf Coast. This is only one of many series that Cecily is working on. She is also an art instructor at Bayou View Middle School.
